Online Counseling/Distance Counseling
For the past 10 years I have successfully used both Skype and Face Time to have sessions with clients. It is an effective way to stay connected and continue our counseling sessions when you travel out of the area, are ill, need to connect quickly, or weather prevents you from coming in person. Using these familiar online tools allows us to maintain both an emotional and personal therapeutic connection at a distance. We can see each other clearly, eye to eye, and it feels almost as if we are in the same room.
"The sessions I have had with Susan Brenner over Skype have been an effective way to keep up with our therapy when I am on vacation or out of town for work. The experience feels intimate and not that different from being in the therapy room during a session together. If you are out of town or unable to make it into the office, I would highly recommend using Online Counseling with Susan."
"There are two reasons I have come to prefer skype sessions over in-person sessions. 1. Convenience: It’s just easier to find the time for a session when I know I don’t have to physically get to Sue and can conduct the session from anywhere I am. 2. Effectiveness: I’ve found that my ability to go to those sometimes scary places is easier when I am in the comfort and safety of my own home. As a result, I sometimes find Skype sessions more productive than in-person sessions.”
"I love face time sessions with Sue. I was reluctant at first, but now it’s my preference as it’s equally effective and a real time saver. I am a busy professional and mother of young children. I travel extensively so the format allows me to be consistent with my therapy without disrupting work."
